Hayley Chan enjoys and appreciates the arts of understanding people. She is well versed with different research techniques that empower people to express their needs and ideas. Having worked in AC Nielsen, Research International and Taylor Nelson Sofres, Hayley is experienced in many different research methods and is always keen for unconventional and innovative research approaches that may bring more perspectives to clients. Hayley is a graduate of the University of Toronto.
Peter Chan has 30 years of management experience in marketing research, marketing, sales, business development and general management. He has held senior executive positions with several multinational corporations and a Hong Kong listed company in various markets in Asia, especially in China. Over these years, Peter has established a solid and successful track record in building up brand equities, implementing joint ventures and business development projects, as well as turning around two faltering businesses with flying color. He sets high standards in his work and firmly believes he can bring values to his clients through both strategy development and effective implementation. Peter holds a BA in Statistics and Geography from the University of Hong Kong and an MBA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Rachel Chan wants to change the world. She is an integrator of ideas and people, a dreamer and a doer. Rachel has embarked on a continuous journey of discovery and transformation for herself and her employers/clients, working first as a policy maker in the Hong Kong government, a diplomat in Brussels and London, a marketer in the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, a consultant to the Hong Kong Design Centre and other commercial clients in branding and design management. She has worked with a wide spectrum of service industries, with considerable experience in the China market. In 2010, she co-founded Make a Difference (www.MaD.asia) with Ada Wong of Hong Kong Institute of Contemporary Culture to inspire and empower a new generation of innovative and compassionate leaders in Asia. She is also a passionate advocate of entrepreneurship, as a key driver of innovation. She launched a new venture fellows programme in 2011 to champion high impact entrepreneurs and attract innovative talent to Hong Kong. Rachel is a graduate of the University of Hong Kong and a Sloan Fellow of the London Business School. She likes to pamper her five senses with good food and wine, Latino and classical music, flamenco and contemporary dance. She gets her inspirations through traveling, books, movies and friends from around the world.
David is a customer experience researcher and consultant. He has 15 years of professional experience in research, design and strategy consulting. He specializes in researching and translating customer value into corporate strategies. He also has extensive experience in interaction design, having worked on everything from ATM machines to mobile phones. He is a frequent guest lecturer and speaker on design research and innovation and provides training and workshop on research methods and has consulted for some of the world¡¦s largest international companies. He is a strong proponent of using in-depth research techniques to understand how deep socio-cultural values influence people¡¦s attitudes and behaviors towards brands, products and services.
Jay
has over 16 years of business experience as a successful entrepreneur, business
strategist and technology consultant in a variety of industries including media/entertainment,
IT, e-commerce, healthcare and financial services. During his career, Jay has
helped many companies establish their presence across Asia. He has also advised
a number of clients - including HSBC Private Bank and Star TV - on the development
of new technology-enabled ventures and leveraging existing IT infrastructure
to increase productivity.
Jay co-founded OneAsia.com, an online retailer of Asian entertainment product.
In February 2000, Tom.com, an associate company of Hutchison Whampoa, acquired
the founders' interest in the company.
Jay has an MBA from London Business School, and speaks six languages, including
Hindi, Mandarin and Cantonese. He has worked and lived in eight countries across
Asia, Europe and North America.
Peter Lam has 30 years of cross-media experience in print, radio, satellite TV, video publishing, and video on demand. Peter is also a very experienced trainer in media skills and crisis communication and a senior consultant in media strategies. He has served major corporations, including some of the biggest in Hong Kong in various capacities. As a founding member of the Motion Picture Industry Association, Peter (currently vice-chairman) is actively involved in the annual Hong Kong Film Awards and anti-piracy issues. He has been a member of the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education, RTHK¡¦s Program Advisory Committee, and one of the founders of the Children's Cancer Foundation.
Dr Waishun Lo has over 20 years of experience in telecommunications, technology, and software industries. He helps clients create and implement strategies in mobile content, payment, digital media, and Web 2.0 spaces. His previous experience includes positions with Bell Labs, Cable & Wireless Innovation, Hong Kong Telecom, and S Venture, an early stage investment company. He is also deeply knowledgeable about social and economic developments in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland. Waishun holds Bachelor of Science and Masters of Philosophy degrees from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, a Ph.D. from Brown University, and has executive management training from INSEAD.
Charles Mok is widely known in Hong Kong and Asia as one of the leading experts and entrepreneurs in Internet, mobile and technology-enabled innovation strategy. As a strategy consultant, he has worked with many major multinationals in the information technology and telecommunications areas and end-user companies in the region. Charles is a founder of several major IT professional associations in Hong Kong and a member of many key Hong Kong government statutory bodies and advisory committees. He graduated from Purdue University with Bachelor and Master Degrees in Electrical Engineering.
Jeanette Whyte is a former British Telecom (BT) Director, and has close to 30 years telecommunications experience where she held senior roles in the areas of strategy, portfolio management, product development, international business development and IT. Jeanette advises clients ranging from small start-up companies to ¡¥blue chips¡¦ to government investment agencies representing a range of industries across Asia. Jeanette graduated from Loughborough University in the UK with a BSc (Hons) in Management Sciences. She is a Sloan Fellow from London Business School and has a post graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
William Wong is an enthusiastic and inspiring catalyst possessing a distinguished international career spanning close to 20 years working for MNCs in both Canada and the UK. ¡§Carpe Diem¡¨ - He firmly believes the best way forward is to seize the moment and experience it. After graduating from London Business School with an MBA, William entered the world of private equity as a change management consultant. Alastair has worked for 30 years in global public relations and local/regional media organizations, with extensive consulting experience in the design and delivery of corporate and marketing communications programmes, issues and reputation management. He works very often with senior management on client-side to facilitate and ensure alignment of communications programmes with business objectives, strategic direction, and overall vision. On behalf of Children¡¦s Cancer Foundation, Alastair proposed and successfully lobbied the HKSAR government for the establishment of a Centre of Excellence in Paediatrics. Alastair is also a media veteran. For many years he was a senior producer and programme presenter at public broadcaster Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK). He graduated at the University of Oxford with a bachelor degree in music.
Jonas is the Mr Know-It-All in the team. A researcher and a designer with a broad background ranging from architecture to cultural management, Jonas is particularly interested in the causes and effects of consumer and social behavior at all levels, and in their roles in defining corporate strategies in a multicultural and global context. Jonas has worked in the UK, Hong Kong and PRC with experience in architecture, graphics, theatre and research. As a designer, Jonas understands the importance of visual thinking as a catalyst to understanding and solving complex and abstract business problems. Graduated from University of Edinburgh in the UK, he also holds a MA in Cultural Management from Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects.
Graham Barkus is experienced in coaching, facilitation, mediation & conflict management and organizational change and development. He is particularly interested in helping organizations balance excellence in operations and tactical thinking with the rather different leadership styles, problem solving approaches and cognitive models required for innovation and ¡¥business creativity¡¦. In his ¡¥day job¡¦ he heads organizational development and learning for Cathay Pacific Airways. Graham took first class honours in Linguistics at New Zealand¡¦s Victoria University of Wellington, and has undertaken postgraduate studies in Ethics, Commercial Law and Mediation.
